Pineapple Maple Pot de Creme (Convenience Store Challenge, 5mins)
Happy Valentines Day!
If you are here it means that you haven’t prepared dessert yet or because you want to make something special but forgot or because its pass Valentines Day and you just want a really quick easy dessert recipe.
1. Breathe, you’re not going to die.
2. Make sure whoever you’re making this for doesn’t read my blog. That’s a fight waiting to happen.
Ok, so i started challenging myself by trying to make cool recipes out of ingredients i find in a convenient store (711 in this case), just so i can show people that smart, tasty food is really accessible to anyone. I also wanted to put a time cap on this one, so the prep time is brought down to 5mins. No kidding.
Pineapple Maple Pot de Creme
Boil 2/3 cup of cream mix (1/3 heavy cream, 1/3 whole milk) in a sauce pan.
In a blender, blend 1 tbsp of maple syrup, 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence, 3 slices of pineapple, 1 large egg. Blend until liquid.
On low, blend in the hot milk mixture.
Pour into 1 mason jar and leave in the fridge at least 3-4 hours (more if you can).
If you have a blast freezer, this will go by even quicker.
If you are doing this at 7pm, you will have the perfect surprise midnight snack.
Take out from the fridge. Dust with cinnamon powder. Done. Voila. Enjoy.
See, I wasn’t kidding.
Music is Stars – this Charming Man (the Smiths cover), and guess what? Stars is playing live on Feb 16 at Metrowalk. I’m so excited, see you guys there!

Can we substitute with other fruits? Allergic to pineapples, unfortunately :(

I don’t see why not. Be playful with it and find a flavor you will like.

This. Looks. Delicious. I can’t wait to try it! However, eeek, what can I use to substitute the egg for that vegan twist? (if you may). Thanks!
