Salsa

This classic party dip is simple and easy to make, using only 6 ingredients. It’s incredibly fresh, and if you’re up to it you can add a little kick with some jalapeño.

Perfect with: tortilla chips, whole grain chips, grilled chicken (as a side)

Ingredients:

1 red onion, minced
1 clove of garlic, minced
Juice of 2 lemons
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 tomatoes, seeded and cubed
salt, pepper and coriander, to taste

 

Tzatziki

This Greek dip is cool and refreshing with a zing. This rich sauce was used to cool down spicy dishes like biryani, but this dip tastes great paired with many dishes. When preparing this dip, it’s best to let it sit for a while to allow the flavors to incorporate.

Perfect with: Salads, kebabs, veggies, pita bread

Ingredients:

1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 clove of garlic, minced
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup greek yogurt
salt and pepper
1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
chopped parsley

 

Cheese and Bacon

This rich and creamy dip is heaven. It’s going to be a crowd favorite at parties. The name speaks for itself. Cheese? Bacon? Uncontested winners. It’s quite similar to making Béchamel sauce. Here’s a cool way to serve this dip— in a bread bowl!

Perfect with: crackers, pretzel sticks, nachos

Ingredients:

3 tbsp of butter
2 tbsp of flour
1 1/4 cup warm milk
1 cup of grated cheddar
2 tbsp of evaporated milk
5 sliced of crispy bacon
1 tsp of onion powder
pinch of salt

 

Hummus

Hummus has recently become a obsession for health junkies. There are hundreds of articles on the internet praising this dip for its versatility and immense flavor. It’s a healthy alternative to many other dips. There are many tricks and tips out there to yield the perfect hummus, but the real secret to a great hummus is in the chickpeas. Mushy chickpeas = perfectly smooth and creamy hummus.

Perfect with: pita bread, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, falafel

Ingredients:

1 can of drained chickpeas, boiled with 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup of tahini
juice of 2 lemons
5 tbsp ice cold water
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
a pinch of salt
