So I’m working in a BPO company and because of our stressful environment, I always ate to ease my stress. And I often ate things that were unhealthy. Until I grew bigger and bigger and bigger.

Then in August of 2014, people started to call me out on my weight, saying I looked like a father and that was before the “dad bod” was a thing. So it was then I decided to do something about my weight.

I wanted to go to the gym and train and then eventually inspire people. And I was someone who’d rather watch TV or play Clash of Clans. I wanted to show them that even someone like me could make the lifestyle switch and become fit and healthy. And after a few months of hard work, I did become that person. Here are some tips on how I made the switch.

Weight Loss Tips

Drink 8 or more glasses of water everyday as it helps boost your metabolism.

Don’t Diet. Instead, eat and drink healthy. In my case, I made avocado and banana shake everyday. It’s my secret weight loss partner as they’re both high in fiber and healthy fats.

Avoid sugary soda fruit juices. Sugar is bad, but sugar in liquid form is even worse. As a healthier alternative, try Coconut water it has less sugar than many sports drinks and much less sugar than sodas and some fruit juices.

Eat or drink more protein. You’ll feel less hungry and will take in less calories.

Get 8-10 hours of sleep. Sleep is highly underrated, but it may be just as important as eating healthy and exercising.

Start lifting weights. It’s not just important to lose fat. You also want to make sure that what is beneath your fat is good and healthy. Doing some sort of resistance exercise is critical for that.

Drink green tea. Other than all its other health benefits, it is also known to boost your metabolism and help in weight loss.

Jog every morning. Doing cardio is probably the quickest way to lose weight. But more than that, it helps promote a healthy heart!

Brush Your Teeth After Dinner . I know this is funny but I recommend it so you’re not tempted to have an after dinner or late night snack.

Remember that weight loss is not about the destination (your weight goal) but about living a healthy life. Don’t stop eating clean or exercising once you’ve achieved your goal.
