Carmela’s back in the kitchen with us and she’s teaching us make another quick dessert you can whip up at the last minute that’s pretty to boot!
It’s an adult dessert though as it has Kalhua and coffee but feel free to substitute with kid-friendly ingredients and any fruit in season.
First, caramelize your brown sugar and then add it to the strawberries. Mix well. Add honey to taste and set aside. Whip your heavy cream, add a tablespoon (or two) of Kahlua, coffee, cacao nibs, and good quality chocolate chips and incorporate well.
Then soak your cookies in a little Kalhua, but not to much to retain its crunch. Break them into containers. After your cookie layer, add around 2 tablespoons of the strawberry mixture, then coffee cream. Keep layering until you fill up the entire container. Top with a final layer of coffee cream and garnish with cacao nibs.
